how Thrifting Decor can give you Luxe Christmas Style on a Budget

Repurposed Thrifted Wreath
When it comes to decking the halls for Christmas, thrifted decor is a game-changer. Not only is it budget-friendly, but it also adds a unique, one-of-a-kind touch to your home. Thrifting second-hand items allows you to repurpose treasures into luxe pieces, just like my $8 thrifted wreath (above), that I transformed into a stunning Christmas centerpiece, inspired by a high-end design!
Double the Deal
I found a pair of silver christmas wreaths for only $4 a piece. By simply adding berries and a bow, I created two matching decor pieces that add a bit of festiveness to my space. At any department store or or retail boutique, i’d spend well over $20 per wreath.

The benefits of thrifting for holiday decor include:
- Affordability: You can find amazing pieces at a fraction of the cost compared to new items.
- Sustainability: Thrifting helps reduce waste and gives new life to items that might otherwise be thrown away.
- Creativity: Thrifted items provide the perfect canvas for your DIY projects, allowing you to create something personal and unique.
- Nostalgia & Charm: Vintage pieces bring a warmth and charm to your home that new decor simply can’t replicate.
So, next time you’re hunting for Christmas decor, think second-hand! You might be surprised by the treasures you can find—and transform—on a budget.
Thrift store gems

If you’re new to thrifting, it’s helpful to shop with a purpose. It can feel overwhelming when you first step into a thrift store, but staying focused will make the experience much more enjoyable. Here are a few things to keep your eyes peeled for:
Ornaments: New ornaments from retail stores can cost anywhere from $5-$25 each. That adds up quickly when you’re decorating an entire tree. Look for Christmas balls, vintage ornaments, or tree fillers at the thrift store to save money without sacrificing style.
Candle Holders and Candlesticks: These can get quite expensive when buying new. If you come across brass candlesticks or unique candle holders, snatch them up! They’re perfect for filling gaps on tables or mantels and can bring a touch of nostalgia to your holiday decor.
Christmas Lights: I used to spend a small fortune on new Christmas lights every year. It never occurred to me to buy second-hand lights until this year, when my mother-in-law gifted me a box of vintage Christmas lights. Let me tell you, those “vintage” lights made all the difference! They not only look better and are higher quality, but they also add sentimental value since they’ve been in the family for so long.

Thrifting for these Christmas essentials doesn’t just save money—it also brings a unique and personal touch to your holiday decor!
Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV):
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
